Download Netscape Navigator for Windows to Floppy Disks
3.01 Regular version, 32-bit, without extras: N32E301.EXE
It covers only the process of getting "floppy" size parts of the original
Netscape
N32E301.EXE file, which is 3,632,640 bytes, so that you may copy these parts
to individual floppy disks that you can take home and use with your own PC.
Note that this procedure is meant for use in a
location where you can use a computer already connected to the network,
one that has a web browser or FTP already installed, and
can write floppy disks that your home computer can read.
Contents:
- First, you'll need three (3) blank, formatted (1.44MB) floppy disks.
- Label these disks with at least a, b, and c. This is important
because the archive parts will all need to have the SAME filename on the
floppies, so it will be hard to tell which is which unless you label them
and make sure to use them in the right order.
- Using a web broswer, download the three "floppy" size parts:
- Insert floppy disk a, then:
- copy N32E301a.EXE a:N32E301a.EXE
Make sure to get the names exactly as shown.
- Insert floppy disk b, then:
- copy N32E301b.EXE a:N32E301b.EXE
- Insert floppy disk c, then:
- copy N32E301c.EXE a:N32E301c.EXE
Now, take the floppy disks home to use on your own PC.
When you get the floppies home to your own PC, copy them as follows:
- Create a folder on your PC to work with these files, move into that folder, then:
- Insert floppy disk a, then type:
- Insert floppy disk b, then type:
- Insert floppy disk c, then type:
- Finally, remove floppy disk c.
Then type:
copy /b N32E301a.EXE + N32E301b.EXE + N32E301c.EXE N32E301.EXE
EXACTLY as shown in bold above.
When complete, you should end up with a copy of the original
Netscape distribution file "N32E301.EXE" (3,632,640 bytes). You can now run
the file "N32E301.EXE" and follow the instructions it provides.
