Chapter 2: Using NavigatorChapter 2: Using Navigator

"Using the Guide button", Page 37:

Click the Guide button to go to the Netscape Guide by Yahoo! (http://netscape.yahoo.com), which lists web sites, news, and events, categorized by areas of interest such as business, computers, entertainment, finance, shopping, sports, and travel.

Chapter 3: Using MessengerChapter 3: Using Messenger

"Deleting a message", Page 53 to 54:

To select additional messages, hold down the Shift key and click additional messages. Hold down the Control key.

After you have completed step 1, go through these steps to delete your messages:

  1. Click Delete in Messenger's toolbar.
  2. (POP3 servers) Messenger moves deleted messages to the Trash folder.

(IMAP servers) Messenger either moves deleted messages to the Trash folder or marks them for deletion. See "About deleted messages" for more information.

  3. (IMAP servers only) If a message is marked for deletion, you can unmark it by selecting the message and clicking Delete in the Messenger's toolbar.
About deleted messages

What happens to deleted messages depends on whether you’re connected to a POP3 (Post Office Protocol) or IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) server.

To check the type of mail server you´re connected to:

  1. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
  2. Click the Mail & Groups category.
  3. Click the Mail Server subcategory.
Look under Mail Server Type to see the type of mail server (POP3 or IMAP) you’re connected to.

If you´re connected to a POP3 server, Messenger moves deleted messages to the Trash folder, where they remain until you empty the Trash. See "Emptying the Trash" for more information.

If you´re connected to an IMAP server, Messenger either marks the messages for deletion or moves them to the Trash folder. See "Setting the preference for deleted messages (IMAP servers only)" below.

Setting the preferences for deleted messages (IMAP servers only)

  1. Choose Preferences from the File menu, click Mail & Groups, and then click the Mail Server subcategory.
  2. Under IMAP, check the box next to "Move deleted messages into Trash."
  3.  If this option is checked, Messenger moves deleted messages into the Trash folder, where they remain until you choose Empty Trash Folder from the File menu. See "Emptying the Trash" for more information.

If this option is not checked (the default), messages you delete are marked for deletion, and remain in your mail folder until you choose Compress Folders from the File menu. See "Removing messages marked for deletion (IMAP servers only)" for more information.

Note: It is recommended that you check the box so that Messenger moves deleted messages into the Trash folder.

  4. Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box and confirm your changes.
"Keeping message folders", Page 67:

The folder that contains copies of the messages you've sent is called the Sent folder.

Chapter 4: Using CollabraChapter 4: Using Collabra

"Forwarding a message", Page 90:

Although you can only forward a message to other discussion groups on the same server, you can also forward the message to any user by entering their email address.

Chapter 5: Using ComposerChapter 5: Using Composer

"Editing an HTML file stored on your computer", Page 98:

Replace Step 2 with:

2. Click Choose File.

Step 3 is unnecessary.
