  Operating system: Macintosh
In order to use the Netscape Navigator on a Macintosh, you need to
have MacTCP installed. Additionally, if your Mac isn't connected
directly to a network, then you need to set up a TCP/IP connection
over your phone line via SLIP or PPP.

MacTCP is commercial software from Apple. It is not freely available
over the Internet, but it does come with System 7.5.

MacPPP, which works with MacTCP to give you a PPP connection over your
phone line, is available from ftp://ftp.merit.edu/internet.tools/ppp/mac/.

InterSLIP, which works with MacTCP to give you a SLIP connection over
your phone line, is available from
http://www.utah.edu/HTML_Docs/InterSLIP/InterSLIP.html.

A good way to test whether or not your TCP/IP connection is working is
to obtain a copy of NCSA Telnet from ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Mac/Telnet/
and try to open a telnet connection to any site. Until that works,
the Netscape Navigator will definitely not work on your system.
