  Product: Netscape Navigator
  Operating system: Macintosh
The hotlist files that NCSA Mosaic and MacWeb use to keep track of
your favorite places on the Web are in a different format than the
bookmark file that the Netscape Navigator uses for the same purpose.
This can pose problems if you are switching to a different browser
(hopefully to Netscape) and you want to keep your list of favorite
sites.

Fortunately, there is a HyperCard stack called "HHConv" that can
convert NCSA Mosaic and MacWeb hotlists into HTML files that consist
of links to your favorite sites. Since the Netscape Navigator
maintains its bookmarks as an HTML file, you can just rename the
resulting file to "Bookmarks.html" and put it into the Netscape folder
in your Preferences folder. You can find "HHConv" at
http://www.interport.net/~laronson/HHConv.html.

If you need to migrate from the Netscape Navigator to NCSA Mosaic or
MacWeb (heaven forbid!), then just open your Netscape "Bookmarks.html"
file in your new browser, and visit each link in it, storing each link
on your hotlist as you go.
