If you´re getting a "Cannot write xxxxxxxx.DLL" error (where "xxxxxxxx.DLL" can be "COMPOBJ.DLL", "CTL3D.DLL", or any other .DLL file) from Windows when you try to install the Netscape Navigator, then this usually means that there is already a file of the same name already in use by Windows, and you must move or remove that file before you can install the Navigator properly. The most common reason that such files would be in use is that you have other prorams running in Windows that are using the files. Make sure that you close all of your Windows applications (including the "Microsoft Office Toolbar" if it's present on your screen) before you install the Navigator. If you´ve quit all of your applications but you´re still not able to install the Navigator, then try quitting out of Windows, and (from DOS) finding and renaming the files that the installation was complaining about. For example, try renaming "COMPOBJ.DLL" to "COMPOBJ.OLD". Then restart Windows and try installing the Navigator again.
